About Us

Hanover House is a modern, purpose built 74 bedded secure healthcare facility in Widnes, Cheshire. The hospital provides robust inpatient care for those who require a medium, enhanced or a low secure environment in a supportive setting. Our committed and highly resourced, multi-disciplinary team provides a quality, structured environment, which is welcoming and comfortable, whilst being safe and secure.

We provide a therapeutic service for those patients with complex health needs who are detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) including those who are restricted by the Ministry of Justice. We accept males and females over the age of 18.

At Hanover House, we provide a specialist assessment and treatment service for those patients with challenging and complex mental health needs. We ensure that patients receive therapeutic interventions, both psychologically and socially, to enable them to move onwards to conditions of lower security, rehabilitation services, step-down services, community placements or to services which best meet their continuing needs.

Hanover House is in the enviable position of being able to provide medium and low secure facilities within the same hospital. This ensures that patients can continue to follow and develop their care pathway in a streamlined and supported manner with the minimum transitional difficulties.

We aim to be the partner of choice for agencies commissioning specialist treatments by delivering on our promises, providing value for money and placing the needs and development of our patients in everything we do.
